We offer classrooms with mixed ages of 3, 4, and 5 year old children with flexible attendance options to meet parents’ busy schedules, as well as age specific 3 and 4 year old morning classes. We are very excited about the curriculum we are using called The InvestiGator Club. This literacy-rich program builds alphabet recognition and phonemic awareness. Children experiment with basic math concepts through a hands-on curriculum which includes counting, classifying, comparing, sorting, patterning, one-to-one correspondence and number recognition. Creative play and the use of different art media encourage experimenting and problem solving. Monthly field trips are taken by each class to enhance the curriculum theme. Along with our curriculum we have a Bible story and memory verse each week. Once a week our students attend chapel, music, and library. Electives of Spanish, American Sign Language and Piano Keyboarding are also available for education enrichment.
These programs are designed for students who will be entering Kindergarten the following school year. The classes emphasize emergent literacy, pre-writing, pre-reading, phonemic awareness and basic math concepts. Each program is structured to develop skills in positive work habits, following directions, working independently, strengthening listening skills and encouraging personal responsibility. Our desire is to prepare students to meet the State of Oregon kindergarten entry benchmarks.
Before and after school extended care is offered from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. Our facility includes a playground, sports fields and a gym. We keep our students actively learning with science, art, drama, crafts, games, a homework time, and other educational activities! On non-school days field trips and themed activities are explored to enhance the student’s experiences. Elective of Spanish, American Sign Language and Piano Keyboarding are also available for education enrichment.
